How it works

From check-in to response in seconds.

Grace MicroCELL systems give lone workers and their supervisors a continuous safety loop — from the moment a shift starts to the moment the worker checks out safely.

1

Worker checks in

At the start of each shift the worker activates their MicroCELL, logging their location and starting the safety timer. Supervisors see a live status for every worker in the field.

2

Alert is triggered

If the worker goes motionless, falls, misses a scheduled check-in, or manually triggers a distress alarm, the MicroCELL immediately sends an alert with real-time GPS coordinates.

3

Response is dispatched

Supervisors or the monitoring center see the worker's exact location and can escalate to emergency services instantly — no guesswork, no delay.

Quick answers

Common questions about MicroCELL lone worker safety.

From safety managers, EHS leads, and operations teams evaluating lone worker monitoring programs.

What is the MicroCELL lone worker device?
The MicroCELL is a Grace Industries cellular lone worker safety device that combines 4G/LTE connectivity, GPS tracking, automatic no-motion and fall detection, and two-way check-in into a rugged, worker-worn form factor. It keeps lone workers continuously monitored and reachable throughout their shift.
How does no-motion detection work?
The MicroCELL continuously monitors the worker's movement. If no motion is detected for a configurable period, the device first gives the worker an audible pre-alert to self-cancel. If there is no response, it escalates to a full alarm and transmits the worker's GPS location to supervisors or a monitoring center.
Can alerts go directly to a supervisor, or do we need a monitoring center?
Both options are supported. The MicroCELL can send alerts directly to designated supervisors via SMS, email, or the Grace platform, or integrate with your existing third-party monitoring center. Your escalation workflow is fully configurable to match your organization's safety program.
What happens if the worker is in an area with no cellular coverage?
For areas beyond cellular reach, Grace Locator Beacons provide satellite-based GPS positioning and emergency SOS signaling. Pairing a MicroCELL with a Locator Beacon gives workers seamless coverage whether they're in an urban facility or a remote field site.
Is the MicroCELL intrinsically safe for hazardous environments?
Specific intrinsic safety ratings vary by model. We recommend reviewing the product spec sheet for each device or contacting our team to confirm suitability for your classified area or hazardous location requirements.
How do we deploy MicroCELL across a large workforce?
Grace offers fleet deployment support including pre-configured devices, platform onboarding, and integration guidance for monitoring centers and supervisor dashboards. Contact our team to discuss a rollout plan scaled to your workforce size and operational requirements.
